Social Documentary Photography Exhibition Opens in Changsha

A social documentary photography exhibition entitled “Xie Hailong: Mirror of Hope” opened at the museum that day, and will run until February 28. (Photo/Guo Liliang, Hunan Daily)


Xie Hailong is the former deputy secretary-general of the China Photographers Association. In 1991, he shot the representative work introducing the Project Hope -- Big Eyes, which moved the whole country and changed the fate of thousands of poverty-stricken children, becoming a symbol of the times.

Project Hope is a Chinese program aiming at financing education for poverty-stricken students.
