Changsha’s New Year’s party for talented foreign professionals was held December 29, 2020. These professionals are from 18 countries and work in Changsha. They and their families were invited to welcome the coming of a New Year.

Zhang Hongyi, Standing Committee member and Organization Department director of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, said that Changsha has always regarded talented foreigners as the foundation of a strong city and thriving industries, and a source of development. In 2019, talented foreigners rated Changsha as one of “China’s Most Attractive Cities”. This evidenced Changsha’s fine reputation among talented foreigners.

Changsha has always attached great importance to attracting and serving talented foreigners. It led Hunan in starting a program to attract talented foreigners, issuing the Talented Foreigners Service Measures (Trial), and setting up a multi-level and all-round policy system for attracting talented foreigners. It has actively carried out international scientific and technological cooperation, and increased exchanges and interactions among international innovation resources. It has also made solid progress in building a center to provide services for talented foreigner innovation and entrepreneurship. Changsha has continued its efforts to improve the innovation and entrepreneurship environment.

The number of high-level talented foreigners in Changsha in 2020 increased by 60% over 2019, despite the epidemic and a complex international environment.
