Hunan Night Economy Popularity Index Ranks 9th Nationwide

The event of “Lightening up China's Night Economic Map” Hunan Station ended in Changsha on December 28, 2020. From the aspects of night tours, entertainment, shopping and sightseeing, it selected the top 3 Hunan night economy favorites among netizens.

The Top 3 Favorite Hunan Towns at Night are Shanjiang Town of Fenghuang County, Beidouxi Town of Xupu County, and Hupingshan Town of Shimen County; the Top 3 Hunan Scenic Areas are Nanyue (Hengshan Mountain), Liuye Lake Tourist Resort of Changde City, and Mao Zedong’s Residence in Shaoshan; the Top 3 Foods are Rosa cake, Chuiyanshidai stir-fried beef, and Yuan Longping rice; and, the Top 3 leisure venues are Wanjiali International Mall, Yanghu Water Street, and Yeahcome.

The year 2020 witnessed rapid cultural tourism and night economy development, said Guo Guquan, a first-level inspector of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. He added that Hunan has developed night culture and tourism economy in a healthy and orderly manner. It has guided qualified tourist attractions to carry out night tour services; encouraged museums and art galleries to open late or optimize opening hours; enriched the night performance market; optimized night dining, shopping, and performing arts services in cultural and tourism venues; and, improved night traffic and other supporting services. The night economy has also become one of the most important consumption engines of Hunan culture and tourism. Relevant statistics showed that Hunan night economy popularity index ranked 9th nationwide, making it one of the most popular provinces in central China. Changsha's night economy ranked first in Hunan, and Zhangjiajie and Xiangxi ranked second and third in the list.
