The inauguration ceremony to launch the Hunan Energy Big Data Intelligence Limited (HEDI) and the Hunan Energy Big Data Intelligence Platform was held at the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Company Limited on December 26, 2020. Hunan Vice Governor Zhu Zhongming attended the ceremony and unveiled the plate for the company. The persons in charge of relevant departments directly under the provincial government administration and the heads of shareholder units participated in the event.

Since the beginning of this year, the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the People’s Government of Hunan Province have implemented the new national energy security strategy of “four revolutions in energy consumption, supply, technology, and system, and international cooperation”; conformed to the integrated development trend of energy and digital revolution; accelerated energy big data construction; and, continuously improved energy governance system and capabilities modernization.

Under the guidance of relevant government departments, the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Company Limited has followed the principles of “government taking the leading role, State Grid management, multi-party participation, open and sharing, market operation, and mixed system”, to complete the Hunan Energy Big Data Intelligence Platform construction in more than four months. The orderly integration of energy and data has been initially realized, forming a demonstration of application innovation. Relying on this platform, it can integrate big data in the energy field, realize intelligent energy management, further improve energy utilization efficiency, and provide scientific solutions for the provincial energy clean and green development.

In order to support the operation of the platform, HEDI is initiated by the State Grid Hunan Electric Power Company Limited, and jointly funded by the Hunan Xiangtou Holdings Group Co., Ltd., the State Grid Information & Telecommunication Group Co., Ltd., Hunan Xiangshui Group Co., Ltd., Wuling Power, Datang Huayin Electric Power Ltd., and ENN Digital Energy Technology Co., Ltd. It is the first domestic diversified hybrid ownership energy big data company, as the “builder, manager, and user” operating entity of the platform.

On the same day, Vice Governor Zhu also inspected the control center and the data sharing center of State Grid Hunan Electric Power Company Limited, to gain an in-depth understanding of the provincial power supply, grid dispatching operation, and digital construction.
