The 20th county-level economy and comprehensive development rankings was released on December 16, 2020. Hunan has 5 counties and county-level cities on the top 100 list. Changsha’s three counties/county-level cities – Changsha County, Liuyang City, and Ningxiang City, rank 4th, 9th, and 16th respectively. Liling City and Xiangtan County were on the list, ranking 45th and 86th.
The rankings were released by the China County-level Economy Research Institute (china-county.org).
Changsha County ranks 4th in terms of county-level economy and comprehensive development, and 5th in basic competitiveness, taking the lead in China’s central and western regions. In 2020, it has maintained a momentum of high-quality development, in spite of the impacts of the COVID-19 epidemic.
Liuyang made a progress compared with the ranking of last year. It ranks 9th in terms of county-level economy and comprehensive development, and 11th in basic competitiveness, both moving up one place. It was listed as an A-class one in terms of basic indicators of county-level development quality, ranking 2nd in central China in basic competitiveness. Its evaluation results are all above A class, with its A-class ranking in economic growth rate being the only among the top 10 nominees. Its fiscal revenue growth rate and investment growth rate are at the highest A-class level. In terms of people’s wellbeing and environmental protection, it also ranks A-class, as a front-runner in central China.
Ningxiang made a leap-up progress, with its basic competitiveness ranking 21st, up by four places; and, its economy and comprehensive development ranking 16th, up 2 places.
