The Kaifu District held a financial and trade industry promotion conference on December 14. A centralized signing ceremony was held simultaneously. A total of 21 advantageous industrial projects with great development potential and strong driving force have been signed to settle in the district.

Alibaba Group will open a business operation center in Hunan for the first time, and its employees will begin to work in Kaifu District in March 2021, the person in charge of Alibaba Group Hunan Office said at the meeting.

Tan Xiaoping, Standing Committee member and United Front Work Department director of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee; and, Changsha Vice Mayor Zhu Dongtie attended.

At the signing ceremony, Dong Chao, director of the Institute of Circulation and Consumption of the Institute of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce; and, Qu Xiaozhi, senior research expert of the Strategic Development Department of Alibaba Group, gave reports on the strategy of expanding domestic demand under the new development pattern, and Changsha consumption in the digital economy era.

The signed projects cover finance and commerce, intelligent manufacturing, software and information technology services, open economy, modern logistics, and video cultural and creative sector. Among them, the financial and commercial project Wanzhi Center, with a total investment of 4.9 billion yuan and a total area of 263,900 square meters, is positioned as an urban TOD (short for Transit-Oriented Development) hub complex and a new cultural and tourism landmark in Kaifu District.

Alibaba Group selected 4,400 square meters of Fuxing Square in Kaifu District as its office area. More than 1,000 employees from the group’s 10 service platforms including Alibaba Cloud, DingTalk, Fliggy and Amap will work there.

Alibaba Group and Kaifu District will carry out in-depth industrial cooperation in trade, logistics, and finance. The group’s logistics unit Cainiao Network Technology Co., Ltd will coordinate with the Jinxia Logistics Park; Alibaba Culture & Entertainment Group will cooperate with the Malanshan Video Cultural and Creative Industrial Park; and Alipay, New Local Life Service Company, and ele.me will collaborate with the district’s major business circles.
