Between December 9 and 12, a Hunan science and education delegation of four universities and related enterprises visited Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) and signed several cooperation agreements. The visit was organized by the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, the Hunan Department of Education, and the Hunan Department of Science and Technology.

Hunan and Macau have carried out university cooperation in recent years. Several Hunan-based universities, including the Central South University, Hunan University, Hunan Normal University, and Xiangtan University, reached more than 10 cooperation agreements with the Macau University of Science and Technology and the City University of Macau. In last December, a Macau science and education delegation visited Hunan at the invitation of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee. Five MoUs and agreements were reached with Hunan’s universities in the fields of academic exchange and sci-tech cooperation. The Hunan delegation’s visit this time aims to accelerate Hunan’s implementation of the “three highlands and four new missions” strategy, and boost the agreements reached in 2019 to be put into effect. Beyond that, it will promote science and education cooperation between Hunan and Macau based on a regular cooperation mechanism.

The Hunan delegation went to the University of Macau, Macau Institute for Tourism Studies, City University of Macau, University of Saint Joseph, and Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau. They visited laboratories, libraries, dormitories, and classrooms, to observe their educational philosophy and mode. Hunan’s technical alliance and enterprise reached letters of intent on integrated circuit cooperation with the University of Macau.

The University of Macau, Macau Institute for Tourism Studies, City University of Macau, University of Saint Joseph, and Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau signed MoUs and agreements of cooperation in the fields of education, sci-tech collaboration, joint educational program, and academic exchange, with the Hunan Normal University, Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, and Hunan University of Technology.
