Secretary Xu welcomed Ambassador Andrey Denisov. He said that Hunan is rich in red resources, cultural heritage, beautiful landscapes, and good development momentum. Since the beginning of this year, Hunan Province, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, has united as one to achieve major strategic results in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, and maintained a sound and high-quality development momentum. We are now seizing major opportunities such as the rise of the central China, and implementing the “three highlands” and “four new missions” strategy, which will bring broader space for cooperation between Hunan and Russia. As a member of the council of cooperation between the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River and the Volga Federal District, Hunan will focus on advanced manufacturing development, technological innovation, international trade, cultural tourism and other fields; and continue to deepen and expand communication and cooperation, and personnel exchanges with the Volga River Federation and other places. I hope Your Excellency the Ambassador will continue to show concern and support, and promote collaboration between the two sides, to contribute to the friendship between China and Russia, he added.
Ambassador Andrey Denisov believed that the "Yangtze River-Volga" local cooperation is an important result of the close cooperation between Russia and China. Hunan is an important partner. A series of cooperation with Ulyanovsk and other places have achieved good results. He expected Hunan to give full play to its advantages in manufacturing, R&D and innovation, agriculture, cultural tourism and other fields; actively participate in local exchanges and cooperation between Russia and China; and, achieve more and more fruitful cooperation results.
