The China-Europe (Changsha) freight trains have maintained a strong growth momentum since this year, with the number of trains operated ranking among the top level nationwide.

According to the Changsha Customs, between January and November this year, a total of 497 China-Europe freight trains to and from Changsha had been operated, carrying goods worth 1.88 billion USD, an increase of 1.37 times and 1.32 times respectively compared with the same period last year. Both the number of trains and the cargo value exceeded last year’s total figure.

The person in charge of the Central South China International Land Port Co., Ltd., said that there are more than 10 regular China-Europe (Changsha) freight train routes, covering nearly 100 cities in more than 20 countries in the European Union, Russia and Central Asia.

With the stable quantity of trains, relatively low price, and fast delivery time, China-Europe freight trains serve as a stable logistics channel for the province’s market procurement trade, and cross-border e-commerce. From January to November, China-Europe (Changsha) freight trains exported 5,700 boxes of goods worth 628 million USD via market procurement trade mode, a year-on-year increase of 1.58 times and 2.17 times respectively. This facilitated the rapid growth of market procurement trade.

The Changsha Customs fully supports the development of China-Europe freight trains. It has guided enterprises to make use of the “Internet + Customs” mode to realize remote declaration and zero-delay order acceptance and clearance. It has strengthened communication with ports to facilitate China-Europe freight trains to exit from the Manzhouli Land Port. It also strengthened the management of China-Europe freight train stations. The area of container yards in the new operation area has been expanded from 330 40-foot container spaces to 1,200 ones, and the number of inspection berths has been increased from 2 to 8. This helps cut customs clearance time and costs.
