The Seventh General Congress of the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) Hunan Branch was held in Changsha on the morning of December 8. Xu Dazhe, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, spoke at the meeting. Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and acting governor of Hunan Province, and Li Weiwei, chairwoman of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended. Liang Huiling, Party chief and executive vice president of the Red Cross Society of China, delivered a speech. Before the meeting, Secretary Xu and Acting Governor Mao met with Liang Huiling.
Provincial leaders and senior comrades including Wu Lan, Wang Shaofeng, Zhang Jianfei, Liu Lianyu, and Li Youzhi participated. Wu Guiying, vice governor of Hunan Province, presided over the meeting.
Seven organizations were honored as provincial role models including the Red Cross Society of Changsha and 20 people as exemplary individuals. Secretary Xu and Acting Governor Mao presented awards to them.
