CSSC, Valin Group Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement

The China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC) and the Valin Group reached a cooperation agreement in Changsha On December 3. Xu Dazhe, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, met with CSSC Party Secretary and President Lei Fanpei, and attended the signing ceremony.

Yao Laiying, standing committee member of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Party secretary of the Hunan State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, was present.

Secretary Xu welcomed the guests, and expressed gratitude for CSSC’s long-term supports to Hunan’s economic and social development. He noted that, Hunan has maintained a good momentum of development in recent years. Hunan is thoroughly studying the spirit of the 5th plenary session of 19th CPC Central Committee and the important speeches, implementing the spirit of the 12th plenary session of the 11th CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and promoting innovation and hard work. Concentrated efforts are made in enhancing industrial and supply chain, reinforcing sci-tech innovation capability, pushing forward the national plan for Yangtze River Economic Belt development, and striving to build a new modernized Hunan. Hunan’s efforts and progress could not be achieved without the supports and participation of the powerhouse enterprises such as CSSC. He hoped to join hands with CSSC in advancing research on core technologies; promoting green development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and transformation and upgrading in the manufacturing sector; fostering spirit of craftsmanship; and, passing on the traditions of revolution and promoting fine Chinese culture. Guarantees for production factors and innovation should be enhanced, to improve the business environment.

Secretary Lei said that CSSC will rely on its advantages in R&D and production with Hunan; strengthen strategic alignment; jointly develop new industries and formats; and, actively deepen pragmatic collaboration in more fields such as new marine equipment, strategic emerging industries, and green industries. We should promote complementary advantages, and work together to make new and greater contributions to the implementation of major national strategies such as the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, he added.

According to the agreement, CSSC and Valin Group will strengthen cooperation in such fields as advanced steel materials, raw materials and fuels, transportation and logistics, technology research and development, and personnel training. They will also establish a high-level meeting mechanism, a work-level promotion mechanism, and a business-level communication mechanism between the two parties.
