Hunan CPPCC members, including LiWeiwei, attending the Third Session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee,fulfilled their tasks and returned to Changsha by air at noon on May 28.
The session was held at a crucial momentwhen China has achieved major strategic results in the battle against theCOVID-19 epidemic and enters into a decisive stage for the building of amoderately prosperous society in all aspects. The members noted that the session,practical and efficient, was concluded successfully. They stated that thevisionary CPC Central Committee with comrade Xi Jinping at its core has madescience-based and thoughtful decisions and arrangements. They remarked thatafter returning to Hunan, they will:
- Study and implement the instructionsof President Xi Jinping’s major speeches and promptly convey the essence of thesession to all the people in Hunan;
- Follow the guidance of Xi JinpingThought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and intensifythe responsibility of CPPCC members;
- Make every effort to fight the threecritical battles against potential risk, poverty, and pollution;
- Ensure stability on the six frontsincluding employment, finance, foreign trade, foreign and domestic investments,and expectations; and security in the six areas like employment, people’s basiclivelihood, market entities, grain and energy security, stability of theindustrial and supply chains, and community-level management;
- Improve the systems for public healthand emergency management ;
- Enhance social governance capacity;and put forth proposals and suggestions;
- Work hard to fulfill our duties forthe country and the people; and make the great in the key work of the Party andthe state with concrete actions and effective performance; and,
- Strive for a decisive victory inbuilding a moderately prosperous society in all aspects, the realization of“two centenary goals” and the fulfillment of the Chinese dream of the greatrejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Duringthe session, Hunan CPPCC members prepared and proposed suggestions, reported socialconditions and public opinion, and responded to social concerns, centering onsuch issues as decisive victory in poverty alleviation; high-quality economic development;the practice of the rural revitalization strategies; strengthening the publichealth system construction; ecological environment protection; scientific andtechnological innovation; legal construction; and, vocational educationdevelopment. Focusing on major matters in regional reform and development thatneed the central government’s promotion and backup, Hunan CPPCC Member andCPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee Chairwoman Li Weiwei, together with CPPCCmembers from other provinces and regions, and some Hunan-based CPPCC members,submitted the “Proposal on Consolidating Poverty Alleviation Achievements andRevitalizing Rural Areas in Old Revolutionary Sites” and the “Proposal onSupporting Changsha-Zhzhou-Xiangtan City Cluster to Establish a NationalEquipment Manufacturing Innovation Center”. Statistics showed that Hunan CPPCCmembers had submitted 137 proposals with 122 put on record, as of proposalsubmission deadline.
