On December 16, the Corporation Agreement on Establishing the Hunan Port Group was signed in Changsha by five enterprises: Hunan Provincial Water Transportation Construction & Investment Group Co., Ltd., Chenglingji Harbor Development Company, Yueyang City State-owned Assets Company, Hunan Valin Group, and Hunan Communication &Water Conservancy Group Ltd.
The Hunan Port Group will:
·Follow government-driving, enterprises-leading, capital-linking, and marketing operation principles;
·Build a provincial-level platform for integrated operation of harbor resources throughout the province, based on Yueyang municipal and provincial state-owned assets; and,
·Perform integrated shoreline planning, construction, management, and operation for Yangtze River, and its tributaries Xiangjiang, Zijiang, Yuanjiang, and Lishui Rivers.
Preparations have been conducted in capital division, assets evaluation, and due diligence, before the establishment of the group. And it is predicted to be officially established within this year.
"As the market subject of harbor integration throughout Hunan, the Hunan Port Group should give priority to benefit, and adhere to the green, environmentally-friendly, intelligent, highly-efficient, and modern development path, so as to make it a leading enterprise of Hunan harbor and shipping," Cong Peimo, director of the Hunan State-owned Assets Commission said.
