The "Museum-Park integration" plan refers to the integrated development of Hunan Museum and Hunan Martyrs Park. Adjacent to each other, the two sites are both tourist hotspots in Changsha City. Renowned for its rich collections and profound cultural deposits, Hunan Museum receives more than 4.4 million visits every year. Meanwhile, Hunan Martyrs Park which was built to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs, features a combination of red, or revolutionary, culture and green ecological landscapes. The annual number of visits to the park reaches 10 million.

The "Museum-Park integration" plan is an important deployment of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government to build Hunan into a cultural powerhouse and a world-class tourist destination. The preliminary layout has been rolled out. It highlights the orientation of "building a world-class museum with Chinese characteristics", exploring to pioneer a "Museum Park" in China which is expected to better integrate the spaces, resources, and business modes. Upon completion, it will effectively alleviate the issue of limited exhibition space and crowded visitor pathways at Hunan Museum, and traffic jams in the surrounding areas.
