On the evening of August 8 local time, Hunan weightlifter Luo Shifang claimed the women's 59kg weightlifting gold medal at the Paris Olympics. She lifted 107kg in the snatch and 134kg in the clean and jerk to go with a winning total of 241kg, setting three new Olympic records.
So far, Hunan has clinched its fourth gold at the Paris Olympics.
The CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial People's Government sent a congratulatory message, extending warm congratulations to the Chinese delegation and Luo Shifang, as well as heartfelt compliments to all the athletes, coaches, and working staff of the Paris Olympics.
The message also extended sincere gratitude to the General Administration of Sports and the Chinese weightlifting team for their care and support to Hunan's athletic undertakings, wishing that the Chinese delegation would achieve good results at the Olympics.
