On July 16, the 2026 China (Shenzhen) Unicorn Enterprise Conference was held in Shenzhen. The "GEI China Unicorn Enterprise Research Report 2026" was released at the meeting. Eight enterprises from Hunan Province were listed, including Xingsheng Preferred (12th place), CRRC Times Semiconductor (53rd), SANY Heavy Truck (113th), CNGR New Energy (160th), Wenheyou (171st), Busy For You (178th), Intelligent Transforms Union (258th), and Spacety‌ (298th).

The listed Hunan enterprises exhibit distinctive characteristics in terms of track distribution and technological innovation.

Diversified track structure. The eight unicorn enterprises are concentrated in six major tracks: new retail, semiconductors, intelligent connected new energy vehicles, power batteries, popular internet-famous products, and commercial aerospace.

Increasing hard-tech content. CRRC Times Semiconductor has formed an independent technology system in the field of automotive-grade and industrial-grade power devices such as IGBT and SiC. SANY Heavy Truck has completed a multi-technology route layout around pure electric and hydrogen fuel heavy trucks. Intelligent Transforms Union focuses on the research, development and manufacturing of intelligent new energy commercial vehicles, covering scenarios such as last-mile delivery and urban logistics. Spacety‌ has executed dozens of satellite launch missions, accumulating in-orbit data on multiple SAR satellites and technology verification satellites.

According to Greatwall Strategy Consultants, in 2025, there were 376 unicorn enterprises in China, with a total valuation exceeding 1.4 trillion USD and an average valuation of 3.85 billion USD. There were 88 newly-added unicorns throughout the year, an increase of 35 compared to the previous year. Over 90% of the new unicorn enterprises are cutting-edge technology enterprises. Semiconductors, clean energy, intelligent connected new energy vehicles, embodied intelligence, and commercial aerospace are the top five tracks by number of enterprises.
