Hunan exported 2.46 billion CNY of fireworks and firecrackers in the first half of this year, increasing by 26.5% year on year and accounting for 59.3% of China's total fireworks exports, according to recent data released by the Changsha Customs Authority.

During the January-June period, Changsha exported 2.28 billion CNY of fireworks and firecrackers, representing a 25.1% increase and accounting for 92.7% of the province's total exports. Zhuzhou's exports reached 180 million CNY, growing by 46.9% and making up 7.2% of the provincial total. Changde achieved 15.88 million CNY in exports, marking a 68-fold increase.

The United States remained Hunan's primary export market, while shipments to the European Union showed remarkable growth. In the first half of the year, Hunan exported 900 million CNY of fireworks and firecrackers to the U.S., accounting for 36.5% of the provincial total. During the same period, exports to the EU reached 830 million CNY, surging 110.7% year on year and making up 33.6% of the provincial total. Hunan's exports to ASEAN countries and African markets amounted to 160 million CNY and 38.31 million CNY respectively.

The growth in Hunan's fireworks and firecrackers exports during the first half of the year was primarily driven by steady demand from traditional markets. A Changsha Customs official noted that cultural demand and consumption habits in key markets — including the United States, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, and Lebanon — have been the backbone of Hunan's fireworks and firecrackers exports, driving increases in both export volume and value.

It is worth noting that Hunan's exports of fireworks and firecrackers to the European market has increased as a whole, and the growth in many countries has doubled. In the first half of the year, Hunan exported 970 million CNY of fireworks and firecrackers to the European market, an increase of 108.3%. Among them, exports to Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Italy, and the Czech Republic increased by 153.4%, 163.9%, 191.8%, 137.5%, 4.3%, and 464%, respectively.
