Hunan's exports of agricultural machinery expanded 88.1% year on year in the first five months of this year to 330 million CNY. Exports were mainly lawn mowers, grain processing machines, and tobacco processing and production machines, said the Changsha Customs Authority.
Workers are busy on the production lines of the Hunan Nongyou Machinery Group Co., Ltd. in Shuangfeng County, Loudi City, producing a batch of dryers for export to Nigeria. This year, the company's total exports to Africa have exceeded three million CNY.
During the January-May period, Changsha's exports of agricultural machinery reached 200 million CNY, surging 210.6% and accounting for 62% of the provincial total. Loudi City exported 83.908 million CNY of agricultural machinery, accounting for 25.8% of the provincial total.
Private enterprises were the main export force. In the first five months, Hunan's private enterprises exported 310 million CNY of agricultural machinery, an increase of 85.5% and accounting for 95.7% of the provincial total. Exports of state-owned enterprises climbed 171.7% to 14.017 million CNY.
Germany became the main trading partner. In the first five months, Hunan Province exported 76.503 million CNY of agricultural machinery to Germany, up 95.3 times and accounting for 23.5% of the province's total agricultural machinery esports. Exports to India grew 9.3% to 39.247 million CNY, and those to the United States were 17.805 million CNY.
This year, the agricultural machinery of Shuangfeng County, Loudi City achieved a breakthrough in "going global." Local enterprises have been encouraged to use cross-border e-commerce platform to expand overseas markets. Local authorities have actively supported enterprises in developing overseas warehousing capabilities, leading to the establishment of over 160 agricultural machinery e-commerce businesses. During the first five months, exports of agricultural machinery increased 15.7% to more than 83 million CNY in Shuangfeng County, Loudi City.
