Hunan's Exports of High-tech Products Exceed 57 Billion CNY in 2024

Hunan Province exported 57.13 billion CNY of high-tech products in 2024, an increase of 3.3% over the previous year, said the Changsha Customs Authority. 


In 2024, Hunan private enterprises' exports of high-tech products reached 46.97 billion CNY, accounting for 82.2% of the total and becoming the mainstay of exports.


Hong Kong was the largest export market of Hunan Province while Hunan's exports to India, Russia, Indonesia, and Thailand rose sharply. The provincial exports of high-tech products to ASEAN grew 41.95% to 10.82 billion CNY; those to India amounted to 6.02 billion CNY, an increase of 85.4%; and, those to the Belt and Road countries reached 27.62 billion CNY, up 18%.


Exports from Changsha City accounted for more than 70% of the provincial total, and those from Zhuzhou and Xiangtan cities grew significantly. In 2024, Changsha exported 41.1 billion CNY of high-tech products, growing 5.6% and accounting for 71.9%. Exports from Zhuzhou surged 148.2% to 3.07 billion CNY. Exports from Yiyang and Xiangtan increased 15.6% and 55.3%, respectively, reaching an export scale of 2.27 billion CNY.


Exports of computer and communication technology products accounted for nearly half of the total. Hunan's exports of computer and communication technology products were valued at 27.42 billion CNY, accounting for 48% of the total; those of optoelectronic technology products increased 13.5% to 12.1 billion CNY; and, those of electronic technology products climbed 10.9% to 8.8 billion CNY. In terms of specific commodities, exports of LCD flat panel display modules, cell phone parts, and processing parts of microcomputers grew significantly.
