The three-day 2024 ASEAN·Hunan (Yongzhou) Famous and High-Quality Products Trade Fair and the Yongzhou Vegetable Promotion Conference kicked off on November 22. Exhibiting many famous and excellent products, the trade fair attracted numerous merchants. Additionally, the Yongzhou Vegetable Promotion Conference was held as a separate event, showcasing "hot commodities” favored by the public.

Themed "Enhancing Friendly Cooperation, Sharing a New Future for Hunan and ASEAN", the overall exhibition area of the trade fair is about 30,000 square meters. There were exhibition areas for commodities from ASEAN countries, as well as spaces dedicated to famous and high-quality products, vegetables, and specialty food. The exhibition presented agricultural and sideline products special to each region, advanced scientific and technological products, and local delicacies from ASEAN countries, Hunan, Hainan, Guangdong, and Guangxi, along with special vegetables from Yongzhou. The event aimed to establish a demonstration platform for exchanges and mutual understanding, and opening-up and cooperation, promoting various kinds of Hunan's famous and excellent products and Yongzhou vegetables to reach the ASEAN market. Twenty famous Yongzhou dishes and the list of best-selling Yongzhou vegetables in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area were announced on site. Six Yongzhou vegetable export enterprises were given awards for integrated service reforms in the areas of "fruit and vegetable assembly, phased delivery with streamlined customs declaration, unified inspection processes with diversified recognition capability, cross-regional direct supply-lines, local inspections, and flexible law enforcement."

The ASEAN·Hunan (Yongzhou) Famous and High-Quality Products Trade Fair is the only investment and trade-oriented business platform for ASEAN in central China. It has been held seven times, and has developed into an important platform for deepening the province's opening-up and cooperation with global partners. In 2023, Hunan's vegetable exports amounted to 12.39 billion CNY, a year-on-year increase of 42.4%, ranking second nationwide. Among these figures, Yongzhou's vegetable exports accounted for more than 80% of the total, and the export value topped all the prefecture-level cities in China.

Boasting "Shouguang in the north and Yongzhou in the south," Yongzhou vegetables are exported to over 30 countries and regions such as Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, Malaysia, and Thailand. Yongzhou has become a nationally renowned "vegetable basket." Between January and October this year, Yongzhou exported 1.170 million tonnes of vegetables, an increase of 21.5% and accounting for 86.5% of the provincial total.
