Hunan took the lead nationwide in stabilizing and rebounding its industrial economy in the first half of the year; and, in the second half of the year, the industrial economy started with a smooth performance. On August 24, the Hunan Provincial Bureau of Statistics announced the latest data that, in July, the value added of industries above designated size in Hunan increased by 4.8% year on year, but the growth rate slowed down from the previous month. However, the overall development of the industrial economy is improving, with nearly 70% of industries achieving progress.

In July, among the 39 major industries of the provincial large-scale industries, 26 increased added value, with an increase of 66.7%. Four key industries of special equipment manufacturing, computer communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing, general equipment manufacturing, and electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing have developed steadily, with year-on-year growth rates of more than 12%.

The production of nearly 60% of key industrial products increased. Among them, the production of masks, medical masks, and service robots grew by several times. The output of concrete machinery, cranes, and construction machinery was up by more than 50% year on year. The output of integrated circuits, lithium-ion batteries, and semiconductors optoelectronic devices showed double-digit growth.

Hunan’s industrial development stamina has been more adequate in the first half of this year. Between January and July, the provincial industrial investment increased by 10.5%, with the speed of 1.1 percentage points higher than the first half of the year. Among them, manufacturing investment increased by 7.0%, 1.2 percentage points higher than the first half of the year; investment in high-tech industries grew by 34.5%, continuing to maintain a rapid growth trend and laying the foundation for the continuous transformation and upgrading of the provincial large-scale industries.
