Also in attendance were Mao Zhaohui, deputy secretary-general of the Hunan Provincial People's Government; Cao Huiquan, secretary of the CPC Zhuzhou Municipal Committee; Hu Hebo, secretary of the CPC Xiangtan Municipal Committee; Lai Xinzheng, member of the CPC Leadership Group of the Development and Reform Commission of Hunan Province and director of the Hunan CZT Integrated Development Affairs Center; Chen Bozhang, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and acting mayor of Changsha City; Chen Huiqing, deputy secretary of the CPC Zhuzhou Municipal Committee and mayor of Zhuzhou City; Li Yongliang, deputy secretary of the CPC Xiangtan Municipal Committee and mayor of Xiangtan City; and, leaders from relevant provincial departments and the three cities of Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan.

The project is a concrete practice to implement Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, a landmark initiative to advance CZT integrated development under the "One City" vision, and a model for the green center area to explore new ways for green transformation.

Situated in the ecological green center area at the junction of the three cities, the 92.8-kilometer circular greenway project integrates forest landscape transformation, ecological restoration, and environmental remediation. It connects key areas including the Floral & Horticultural Expo Park, Shiyan Lake, Zhaoshan Mountain, Dongfeng Reservoir, Jiulang Mountain, CZT Boundary Tablet, and Fuxing Lake, creating a distinctive brand—"A Hundred-Mile Gallery for Mountain Marathons." The project aims to create influential metropolitan scenic, healthy, prosperous, and happy pathways. In particular, three functional routes are planned, namely a two-way self-driving tour route which can also cater to the needs of sporting events and fire and emergency rescue; a cycling and jogging route designed to host mass mountain running events; and, a mountain hiking route suitable for mountain bike competitions.

The project has now entered the construction phase and is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
