The 3rd Forum for Xiangtan Entrepreneurs and the Investment Promotion Conference were held in Xiangtan City on September 13. Sui Zhongcheng, Standing Committee member and United Front Work Department director of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee; Peng Guofu, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People's Congress; Zhang Jian, vice chairperson of the CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee and chairman of the Hunan Federation of Industry and Commerce; and, Somkhit VANKHAM, consul general of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Changsha, attended.

The forum attracted "Fortune Global 500", "Chinese Top 500", and "Chinese Private Top 500" enterprise representatives, leading enterprise representatives of emerging industrial chains, and Xiangtan's chambers of commerce and associations in other places. Major events included an economic and trade cooperation conference for overseas Chinese-invested enterprises to promote Xiangtan products to go global; world-famous Hunan entrepreneurs visiting Xiangtan and a meeting of chairmen of Xiangtan's chambers of commerce in other places; field visits to companies in industrial parks; a forum for Xiangtan entrepreneurs and investment promotion conference; and, exchanges between guest representatives. Talent attraction projects were signed during the forum.

At the forum, awards were presented to six industrial and sci-tech leading talent teams of Xiangtan City, six private entrepreneurs for their outstanding contributions to building a new Hunan, and six enterprises for their outstanding contributions to building a new Hunan. Twenty projects worth 11.993 billion yuan were signed on site, including a super large electrical machinery supporting project and Hunan stem cell investigational new drug research and development project.
