The 2024 "Yiyang Enterprises and Products Entering Central and North Asia" Economic and Trade Week, the China (Yiyang)-Russia (Moscow) Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference, and the China (Yiyang)-Kazakhstan (Astana) Economic and Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference were held between October 8 and 11. Xiong Wei, deputy secretary of the CPC Yiyang Municipal Committee and mayor of Yiyang City, gave a briefing on Yiyang City via video link. Liang Chengli, secretary-general of the Yiyang Municipal People's Government, also participated.
 
The chairman and vice chairman of the Public Council of the Leningrad Region in Russia attended the launching ceremony of the economic and trade week. Gao Qi, chief representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Russia, and Wang Songhua, president of the China Enterprises Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan, also attended the ceremony. Leaders of the Moscow Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Vladimir Region, the Association of Asian Industrialists, the International Union of BRICS Strategic Projects of Russia, the Association of Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs, and the chambers of international trade attended the meetings and related economic and trade activities.

Xiong Wei introduced Yiyang, noting that it is located in central China, is bordered by the Yangtze River to the north and embraces Dongting Lake. The city is renowned for its stunning landscapes and abundant resources, earning it the titles of "the land of fish and rice", "the home of dark tea", and "the home of bamboo". In recent years, Yiyang's industrial economy has experienced accelerated development, forming a modern industrial system supported by high-end equipment manufacturing, electronic information, food processing, light industry and textiles, biomedicine and other industries. Yiyang is showing its unique charm to the world.
 
Xiong Wei indicated that at this event, we have brought not only the warm friendship of the Yiyang people but also a variety of Yiyang products for enterprises. This includes special agricultural products such as Anhua dark tea and Taojiang bamboo shoots, industrial products such as equipment manufacturing and new energy yachts, and folk handicrafts such as traditional textiles and bamboo products. Mayor Xiong expressed a sincere hope that our foreign friends will leverage their strengths in resources, technology, and markets to actively foster cooperation and promotion, leading to mutual benefits and win-win outcomes. He warmly invited everyone to visit Yiyang, to explore business opportunities, and to fall in love with the city.
