Recently, 180 parallel imported vehicles, valued at about 9.45 million USD, arrived at Chenglingji Port, Yueyang, after 40 days of transnational shipment. This marks the first delivery of parallel auto imports for the Chenglingji Comprehensive Bonded Zone this year. The Yueyang Customs authority facilitated the inspection and clearance of vehicles by providing services such as the advance declaration processe, to ensure these vehicles can enter the market as soon as possible. The Yueyang Chenglingji Finished Vehicles Import Port has achieved a "good start" to 2025.

Parallel auto import is a government-supported program that allows independent auto dealers to directly purchase vehicles from foreign market and sell them in domestic market legally. Prices for the parallel import vehicles are usually lower than that from the dealers authorized by automakers.

The Yueyang Chenglingji Finished Vehicles Import Port was authorized and began operations in July 2016. Collaborating with the departments of maritime affairs, customs, quarantine and inspection, and border defense, the Port Office of the Yueyang Municipal People's Government set up a "green channel" to streamline customs inspection procedures, thereby ensuring the fast custom clearance of imported vehicles.

A parallel imported vehicles exhibition and trading center opened at the Chenglingji International Automobile Town last October, providing one-stop services including purchasing, delivery upon arrival, and customized adaptation for the consumers. A whole-chain auto industrial ecosystem integrating overseas warehouses, international freight service, customs clearance and inspections, and storage logistics has taken shape. In 2024, a total of 1,306 vehicles have been imported through the parallel auto import port in Yueyang, achieving a trade value of 473 million CNY.

In 2025, Yueyang will vigorously expand export of used cars replying on the Chenglingji Finished Vehicles Import Port. It will continuously strengthen the platform role of the port, prosper port economy, and bolster high-level "going global" and high-quality "bringing in".
