The "tourist doctor" team provided health consultations for visitors at a mobile medical station near the Golden Whip Stream Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park on the morning of October 8, the final day of the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. Statistics showed that during the eight-day holiday, the "tourist doctors" served over 4,860 domestic and foreign tourists, including 23 visitors from abroad. Their professional medical care and warm-hearted service earned widespread acclaim.

Zhangjiajie has arranged over 400 medical personnel from eight healthcare institutions this year, as a vital service guarantee for the international tourist destination. The medical workers have set up 31 fixed and mobile medical stations at 14 scenic areas and transportation hubs, implementing a three-tiered medical support model combining fixed stations, mobile units, and random patrols to safeguard tourists around the clock. The "tourist doctors" have further upgraded their services this year—equipping themselves with trilingual (Chinese, English, Korean) "tourist health maps," utilizing smart translation devices to overcome language barriers, and forming cultural teams to publicize health awareness through artistic activities.

During the holiday period, "tourist doctors" efficiently handled multiple emergencies, earning widespread praise from tourists. On October 2, a Belgian tourist sprained an ankle. Medical staff improvised an ice pack using an ice pop for cold therapy, relieving pain within half an hour. On October 3, Mr. Zhang from Hebei Province suffered a left ankle fracture. The medical team coordinated with the scenic area and emergency services to open a green channel, while volunteers provided full-time care for him and his 10-year-old son throughout the process.

The "tourist doctor" civilized practice program is a special service initiative tailored for tourist safety. The program has been developed by Zhangjiajie through the integration of its regional characteristics with features of the tourism industry to innovate a "Party building + healthcare + tourism + practice" model. The program also serves as a public welfare project enhancing tourists' sense of fulfillment and security. Since its launch in 2017, the initiative has mobilized nearly 7,000 medical personnel to provide 705,000 instances of healthcare services to domestic and international tourists. The program has received multiple national honors, including recognition as one of the "National Model Case of Cultural and Tourism Volunteer Services." This successful model has been adopted and replicated by numerous tourist cities across China.
