At the yard area of Changsha New Port's ro-ro terminal, rows of brand-new commercial vehicles are parked neatly and ready for shipment. According to the Changsha New Port Co., Ltd. of Hunan Chenglingji Port Group, from January to October this year, the new port's operation area handled a cumulative total of 61,088 commercial vehicles via ro-ro operations, a year-on-year increase of 17.4%. Of these, 9,323 units were handled in October alone, hitting a record high. The dedicated railway handled 1.8986 million tonnes of cargo, up 5.6% year on year. These figures reflect the vibrant vitality of Hunan's automotive industry.

As the only professional automobile ro-ro terminal in Changsha, the provincial capital, Changsha New Port leverages "water-to-water transshipment" to connect with the Yangtze River's major ro-ro channel. The port has established regular cooperation with automakers such as BYD, SAIC Volkswagen, BAIC Motor, and Geely Auto, providing an efficient and convenient logistics channel for "Changsha-made" and "Hunan-made" new energy vehicles to go global. Data shows that from January to October this year, Changsha New Port handled the loading and unloading of 30,475 BYD new energy vehicles, a significant increase of 159.4% compared to the 11,748 units handled during the same period last year. The growth rate in business volume has been particularly impressive.

Alongside the development of its water transport operations, Changsha New Port has also been continuously improving and upgrading its dedicated railway facilities. The volume of coal transported from Xinjiang to Hunan via Changsha New Port has steadily increased. Since the Xinjiang-to-Hunan coal transport project started in September this year, the cumulative freight volume has exceeded 100,000 tonnes, playing a positive role in ensuring Hunan's energy supply and reducing energy costs for enterprises. Meanwhile, the total annual coal shipments via the Changsha New Port's dedicated railway have exceeded 193,300 tonnes, representing a 304.39% increase from the 47,800 tonnes shipped during the same period last year.
