Changsha WES Academy (CWA) was established in 2010. Introduced by the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone in partnership with WES Group of Singapore, it is the only international school in Hunan Province approved by the Ministry of Education of China, as well as the province's only K-12 school with English as its first language. The school delivers curricula covering primary, middle and senior high levels, providing high-quality international education services to students from around the world.

The school currently enrolls 160 international students and employs approximately 30 international teachers from over 20 countries and regions, making it the largest international community school in Hunan Province. The international students primarily come from countries such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, Australia, and Japan.
