Huahu Valley:A "Three-Day Tour" Destination on the Hunan-Jiangxi Border

In Yantang Town, Chaling County, lies a breathtaking scenic area that looks like an overturned paint palette—China Huahu Valley.

As a national 4A tourist attraction, Huahu Valley is not only adjacent to Jinggangshan, known as the cradle of the Chinese revolution, but also serves as the flagship project driving Chaling County's "all-for-one tourism" and rural revitalization. With an investment of 4.5 billion yuan, it integrates four major sectors: "Grand Flower Sea," "Grand Lake," "Grand Canyon," and "China Wanlihong Hunan-Jiangxi Revolutionary Base Area Red Culture Park," creating a three-day travel destination that deeply integrates primary, secondary and tertiary industries.

More Than Just Flowers: Diverse Offerings Attract Visitors of All Ages

Entering Huahu Valley, what greets you is not a single type of natural scenery, but a multifaceted "micro-vacation kingdom."

The 16 themed gardens already completed—crape myrtle, osmanthus, azalea, red maple, cherry blossom, and more—take turns blooming throughout the seasons, ensuring the valley is always picturesque and every step reveals a new landscape. Beyond quiet appreciation, there are also thrilling experiences: sky-high rafting, rainbow slides, jungle crossing, heart-pounding bridges. Each internet-famous attraction nestled among the mountains, becomes a photo spot for young people to unleash their energy.

The "Water Park" that opened in July 2025 has become a "dark horse" in regional summer tourism. In its first week, daily visits exceeded 10,000, with weekend peaks surpassing 20,000 per day. Attractions like the "Water Horn Slide," "Wave Pool," and "Dream Water Village" not only keep children entertained but also allow parents to rediscover the joy and coolness of summer.

Cultural Tourism Integration: From Pastoral Romance to Family-Friendly Design

If you think Huahu Valley is only about traditional sightseeing, you are wrong.

Inside the scenic area, several yellow cattle leisurely wander inside enclosures, white tents dot the grassland in the distance, colorful balloons float in the air, and a sign reads "Grassland Music Carnival." This scene epitomizes the valley's transformation from an "idyllic pastoral setting" to a "trendy fashion venue."

The "Grassland Music Carnival" is one of Huahu Valley's signature IP events. It breaks the static mode of sightseeing tourism, animating the mountains with music and transforming natural landscapes into interactive, engaging "cultural events." As night falls, stage lights illuminate the valley, young people sway to the rhythm, and laughter echoes around bonfires—this scene has become the "new engine" attracting young visitors to Huahu Valley.

"He who wins families wins the market."—Huahugu understands this principle well.

In the Petting Zoo, a small white dog peeks out from a wooden fence, its lively eyes drawing children to crouch down and whisper softly. Not far away from the grassland, giant inflatable blue whales and pink piglet kites float leisurely, creating a fairy-tale world that offers an "escape from everyday life."

Rather than simply cramming the park with amusement rides, the attraction has focused on creating an emotional connection through themed scenarios. Whether it's interacting with gentle animals like camels and ponies or exploring the non-motorized play area, every experience is designed to meet family visitors' dual needs for "companionship" and "safety."

From Bazzar to Nighttime View: Creating a Place Where You Want to Stay

"I don't want to leave once I'm here, and I want to come back after I leave"—this is how many visitors describe Huahu Valley.

The scenic area has put great efforts into atmosphere creation: the "Huahu Valley Bazzar" in the woods features wooden walkways connecting stalls that sell local agricultural products and handmade crafts. The market serves as a hub where rustic charm meets urban trendiness. Beanbag chairs casually placed on the lawn, white peaked tents, and fairy-tale-style buildings together create a hybrid space for photo-taking, relaxation, and socializing.

As dusk falls, lights gradually come on. Aerial shots of the valley show roads like veins connecting illuminated buildings, tent areas, and colorful seats, revealing the potential of a "nighttime economy." Night tours, night entertainment, overnight stays—by extending operating hours, the scenic area has achieved a shift from half-day trips to overnight stays.

The ultimate success of a cultural tourism project lies in whether it genuinely stimulates local development.

With the rise of the water park, music festivals, market, and other businesses, farm stays, homestays, and local specialty sales in Yantang Town have boomed. "We're run off our feet on weekends—revenue has tripled!" said a local farm-stay owner with a smile.

Through the diverse integration of "red tourism + agritourism + tea tourism + cultural tourism + wellness tourism", Huahu Valley not only attracts visitors but also extends industrial chains, creates jobs, and helps surrounding villagers prosper near their home.

From the tranquility of a suspension bridge in autumn to the fiery energy of a music carnival; from the parent-child interactions at the petting zoo to the adrenaline rush of high-altitude attractions—China Huahu Valley, with its diverse offerings, meticulous scene design, and continuous innovation, has broken the old model of scenic areas that "live off mountains and waters." It stands as a vivid practice of Chaling's all‑for‑one tourism promotion and a typical example of how cultural-tourism integration can drive rural revitalization.
