Emperor Yan, also known as Shennong, is an outstanding tribal leader in ancient China, the founder and pioneer of China's 5,000-year-old agricultural civilization, and a cultural ancestor of the Chinese nation. Emperor Yan made great contributions to the rise and development of the Chinese nation. Emperor Yan's Mausoleum is the blessed resting place of Shennong and a sacred cultural site for Chinese people at home and abroad to trace their roots and honor their ancestors.
The Emperor Yan's Mausoleum Scenic Area consists of the Shennong Great Hall Sacrificial Zone, the Mausoleum Hall Tribute Zone, the "Shennong Garden" Memorial Zone, the Huangshan Mountain Sightseeing Zone, and the Mishui River Scenic Belt. Its main attractions include over 100 sites such as Emperor Yan's Mausoleum, Shennong Great Hall, the Mausoleum Hall, the Imperial Stele Garden, the Sacred Fire Platform, the Nine Tripods Platform, Huangshan Mountain, Shennong Garden, and Huaxia Square. The "Emperor Yan Memorial Ceremony" has a long history and embodies rich cultural heritage. Since the reform and opening-up, as the influence of Emperor Yan's Mausoleum has steadily grown among the Chinese, participating in the "Emperor Yan Memorial Ceremony" has become an important way for Chinese descendants to seek ethnic identity, aspire for national reunification, and express patriotic sentiments.

Getting there: Yanling County is well-connected, with Jinggangshan Airport, Hengyang Nanyue Airport, and Changsha Huanghua International Airport nearby, and direct railway and expressway access. The county has a dedicated tourist bus route to Emperor Yan's Mausoleum, with departures every 30 minutes. The Emperor Yan's Mausoleum Scenic Area is a closed scenic area; visitors can take sightseeing vehicles to enter the area.
