Liu Zongyuan Memorial Hall was established and opened to the public in 1985. It is a special memorial hall dedicated to commemorating Liu Zongyuan, an outstanding litterateur, thinker, and statesman of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The museum houses over 400 pieces of calligraphy works and paintings by modern and contemporary celebrities, more than a dozen steles dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1384-1644), 25 pieces or sets of third-grade cultural relics, and 47 pieces or sets of general cultural relics. These collections hold significant historical, scientific, and artistic value for studying and promoting the cultural heritage of Liu Zongyuan and the history and culture of Yongzhou.
