Wuxi Stele Forest

Located in the southwest of Qiyang County, the Wuxi Stele Forest Scenic Area is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. As the largest one in the open air in the southern area of the Yangtze River, it is a state preservation unit of key historical relics. There are a total of 505 steles preserved, on which many famous celebrities' poems, paintings or proses are carved. The most famous one is Ode to Zhongxing from Tang Dynasty written by Yan Zhenqing, an outstanding calligrapher of the Tang Dynasty. The stele is unique for its bewitching calligraphy, remarkable writing and extraordinary stone. The scenic area is a storehouse of Chinese history, calligraphy, characters and literature, and well worth a visit.
