Shuifu Tourist Area

The Shuifu Tourist Area is located in central Hunan and in the southwest of Xiangxiang, approximately a 100-kilometer drive from Changsha, Zhuzhou, Xiangtan, Loudi, Yiyang, Hengyang, and Shaoyang. The Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway, Hunan-Guizhou Railway, Shanghai-Kunming Expressway, Changsha-Shaoshan-Loudi Expressway, Loudi-Xinhua Expressway, and Provincial Highway 332 pass through the area with stations or exits. The scenic area can be reached within a 5-minute drive via Shuifu Avenue, offering excellent transportation accessibility. Centered around the Shuifumiao Reservoir, the area is a national-level water conservancy scenic spot and a national wetland park, and was rated as a national 4A-level scenic area in 2014.

The total planned area of the scenic area covers 290 square kilometers, encompassing Qizi Town, Maotian Town, Xikou Fishing Ground, and the Shuifumiao Reservoir. The Shuifumiao Reservoir features vast and expansive waters, with a water surface area of 50.5 square kilometers, 431 kilometers of reservoir shoreline, over 100 bays, 34 islands, a total storage capacity of 560 million cubic meters, and a maximum water level of 94.6 meters.

The Shuifu Tourist Area is renowned as "The World's Shuifu, a Heavenly Jade Pool on Earth." Within the area, 74 natural landscapes such as Shizi Mountain, Epo Mountain, Sunshine Terrace, Xing'er Reef, Legeng Island, White Egret Island, and Qinglong Pool have naturally formed, along with numerous national and provincial cultural relics and historical sites. Among them, Qinglong Pool features 18 main caves and 48 branch caves, filled with wondrous scenery, where various stalactites and stalagmites in myriad shapes appear vivid and lifelike. There is a saying, "Everyone knows the beauty of West Lake and that Guilin's landscapes are the best under heaven, but few realize that Shuifu's scenery surpasses even Guilin."

The Shuifu Tourist Area, with its picturesque lake and mountain views, serene environment, fresh air, complete facilities, and excellent services, has become a favored lake-based eco-leisure and vacation destination for outdoor adventures, business conferences, wellness retreats, and gatherings of family and friends in the surrounding city clusters.
