Lotus Seeds with Rock Candy

Lotus seeds with rock candy is a traditional dessert in Hunan Province. Hunan’s lotus seeds are mainly from the Dongting Lake. The best Hunan’s lotus seeds grow in Xiangtan City. There are red and white lotus seeds. The latter are round, pure white, soft and fragrant, which are famous nationwide.

The dessert’s soup is clear with white, soft and fragrant lotus seeds in it. Besides, the dessert is nutritious because lotus seeds are rich in starch, protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron and vitamin B1.
