Wugang Rice Cake


Wugang rice cake or Wugang rice flower is made from glutinous rice. After several rounds of cleaning and prolonged immersion in the water, glutinous rice becomes swollen and then is divided into two halves. One half of the rice is mixed with edible red pigment, and placed with the other half in a steamer (separated by partitions). After steaming, glutinous rice should be taken out and laid out on a bowl-sized container.
