Xupu Goose

Xupu goose is from Xupu County, Huaihua City, Hunan Province and it is one of the national geographical indication products in China.

The goose feeds on the natural herbage. It features the advantages of fast growth, high egg laying rate, strong foraging ability, coarse feeding tolerance, and excellent adaptability to the natural environment. The goose is considered as one of the best varieties for its low-cholesterol and rich-nourishment liver. 

Its high-quality feather is used to make badminton for China's national badminton team. In 2014 it was listed in the National Conservation List of Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources.
