Chenxi Pickled Radish is made from radishes grown in the sandy soil of Muzhou and Dangjiangzhou in the Yuanjiang River in Chenxi County, Huaihua City.
The radishes are large in size, as well as sweet and juicy in taste. They are pickled with a combination of traditional methods and modern techniques and served with home-made spicy oil.
The taste is excellent, with a balance of sourness, sweetness, crispness, and spiciness. It can stimulate appetite and promote digestion, making it a signature snack in Chenxi.
In 2009, it was listed as a representative project of the second batch of municipal intangible cultural heritage by the Huaihua Municipal People's Government.
