Dongzhou Isle is located in the middle of the Xiangjiang River in the southeast of Hengyang City. It is approximately 2 kilometers long and more than 200 meters wide, with 25 mu (about 1.67 hectares) of sandy beaches. The isle features a nunnery, an academy, ancient trees, peach blossoms, and beaches during the dry season. The area is water-locked, featuring a dense forest and a tranquil environment. Yueyang's Junshan Island, Changsha's Orange Isle, and Hengyang's Dongzhou Isle are known as the three isles in the Xiangjiang River Basin.
