Linwu Duck

Linwu duck, known as a specialty in Linwu County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province, is a national geographical indication (GI) product and one of the eight famous ducks in China. Boasting a long breeding history, it is mainly produced in the Wushui River Basin of Linwu County, one of the sources of the Zhujiang River.

A Linwu duck only weighs 2.5 kilograms after growing for 70 or 80 days. With delicate meat and delicious taste, it is famous for the function of "nourishing yin to lower the evil fire and enhancing beauty and health". It ranks first among local shelducks in China. As a tribute to the imperial court in ancient China, it has enjoyed great reputation in the south of Hunan Province and the north of Guangdong Province.
