As home to cultural giants Qu Yuan and Jia Yi, Changsha made a big move during the just-concluded Duanwu Festival holiday. Major scenic areas, venues, and business districts across the city launched more than 100 cultural tourism activities across six different series during the holiday. The popularity of this internet-famous city continued to increase. Data from the tourism statistics comprehensive platform of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism showed that, Changsha's 32 scenic areas received 260,634 tourist visits on June 10, up 32.55% from last year. The scenic areas achieved a tourism revenue of more than 6.23 million yuan that day, surging by 13.56% year on year. A total of 776,798 tourist trips were made to the scenic areas during the three-day holiday, a cumulative increase of 55.59%, and the total tourism revenue during the holiday reached over 19.26 million yuan, a cumulative increase of 18.37%.
The China Mobile telecommunication data showed that Changsha received more than 1.13 million tourist visits from outside of Changsha at 13:00 on June 10 in an instantaneous manner. According to the big data modeling analysis, Changsha saw more than 3.91 million tourist trips, with the total spending of tourists reaching over 3.21 billion yuan.
