Recently, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has introduced 143 national rural tourism routes on its official website. Five high-quality travel routes from Hunan Province were shortlisted, including a summer trip to the picturesque Zhuzhou; a farming culture tour in Chengtoushan Site (known for its ancient paddy fields and city wall); a tea tour to Yiyang; a flower sea tour in Zhangjiajie; and, a rural tour in mysterious Xiangxi.
This is the second batch of national rural tourism routes launched by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism this year. The routes are centered around themes such as farming culture, tea culture, and poetic dwelling. They aim to integrate various cultural resources, including farming activities, intangible cultural heritage, agricultural cultural heritage, traditional villages, cultural relics, and ancient buildings, into rural tourism products and routes. The goal is to facilitate the deep integration of rural culture and tourism.
The summer trip to picturesque Zhuzhou allows tourists to explore the tranquility of rural villages, experience traditional Hakka customs, and admire the charm of Liling, the capital of porcelain with a history spanning thousands of years. The best time to embark on this route is from July to September. The itinerary includes visiting attractions such as Mihua Ecological Garden and Wolong Resort. Mihua Village in Yanling County has historical attractions like ancient plank roads and ancient bridges, as well as natural landscapes like waterfalls, slabstones, and thousand-year-old Chinese yews. Visitors can also engage in authentic Hakka farming culture experiences.
The rural tour in Xiangxi allows tourists to explore the mysterious western part of Hunan, visit characteristic rural museums, immerse themselves in traditional ancient villages, experience Tujia and Miao ethnic cultures, take a "time travel" journey back to the Qin Dynasty, and visit the 800-year-old Laosicheng Tusi site, which was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2015.
