The Hunan delegation to the second session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) held its second press conference on the afternoon of March 10, 2024, revealing proposals and suggestions submitted by the Hunan delegation in accordance with the law.
Yang Zhiyong, a spokesperson of the Hunan delegation, noted that the delegation submitted seven proposals and 469 suggestions as of the deadline, including eight raised in the name of the delegation.
With a view to improve legal institutions and supervise law enforcement, deputies put forward three new legislative bills focusing on procuratorial public interest litigations, legal service supervision and administration, and pet feeding management; three amendments centering on criminal procedure law, drug administration law, and arbitration law; and, one proposal on supervising the implementation of the Supervision Law.
Of the total, 67 suggestions concerned development planning; 71 highlighted the agriculture sector; 52 focused on industrial energy; 23 on urban construction, and environmental and resource protection; 30 on taxation and finance; 66 on trade, transportation, and cultural tourism; 92 on science, education, culture, health, and sports; 37 on social advancement; 24 on legal system, and 7 on the work of National People's Congress. Government and Party officials took the lead in raising 58 suggestions on high-quality development.
The Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee will assist deputies in strengthening communication with the National People's Congress and national ministries and commissions, striving to include more Hunan plans and Hunan elements into national plans and promote high-quality development through high-value proposals and suggestions.
