The Hunan delegation at the second session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) held its fourth plenary meeting in Beijing on the morning of March 7, 2024. The deputies continued to review the report on the implementation of the 2023 plan for national economic and social development and on the 2024 draft plan, and the draft plan for national economic and social development in 2024, and the report on the execution of the central and local budgets for 2023 and on the draft central and local budgets for 2024, and the draft central and local budgets for 2024.

The meeting was open to Chinese and foreign media according to the arrangements of the national annual "Two Sessions".

Huai Jinpeng, secretary of the CPC Leadership Group and minister of the Ministry of Education, attended the meeting to listen to the opinions. Shen Xiaoming, head of the Hunan delegation; Mao Weiming, Li Dianxun, Wang Shuangquan, and Wu Lan, deputy heads of the delegation; and other deputies such as Du Jiahao, Xu Dazhe, Hu Xusheng, Yang Weigang, Jiang Difei, Zhou Haibing, Zhu Yu, Ye Xiaoying, Li Jiancheng, and Liu Lianyu, joined the meeting.

Comrades from the General Office of the State Council, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Finance were present.

During the deliberation, Zeng Chaoqun, Jiang Tianliang, Hu Guozhu, Zhu Jian, Yin Shuangfeng, Li Xiaosong, Dai Yin, Yan Tao and other deputies put forward opinions and suggestions on the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, vocational education empowering rural revitalization, improving the system of childcare services, boosting innovation and market application of scientific and technological advances of universities, optimizing the layout of academic disciplines and specialties, and enhancing the capacity of medical and health services.
