Governor Mao Urges Solid Preparation Work for Expo Central China 2024

The 13th Central China Investment and Trade Exposition (Expo Central China) will kick off in Changsha on May 31. On the afternoon of May 28, Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, convened a meeting to ensure alignment of all preparation work. Mao stressed the need to thoroughly implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important speeches and instructions made during his inspection tours in Hunan and further strengthen the sense of urgency and responsibility during the preparation work. Mao called for all-out, detailed, and tangible efforts to host an influential expo with unique characteristics, fully demonstrating Hunan's new image in promoting high-quality development and new achievements in energizing the central region. 


On the afternoon of May 28, Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, convened a meeting to ensure alignment of all preparation work for the Expo Central China 2024.


Cao Zhiqiang, vice governor of Hunan Province, and Qu Hai, secretary general of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, attended.

Relevant departments made reports on current progress of the preparation work. With the theme of "Opening up and Innovation, the Rise of Central China", the Expo Central China 2024 will feature 25 activities, including competitive industrial chain investment promotion, project matchmaking, and exhibitions on the achievements of Sino-foreign cooperation. A total of 1,052 enterprises and 2,272 exhibitors have registered to attend the event. In particular, international organizations, government departments, and diplomatic envoys to China from the United Nations, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Thailand will be invited to the expo, along with nearly 100 guests holding a position at the level of vice president or above in multinational companies across the world. Seventy-three provincial-level projects are scheduled to be signed during the expo, with a contract amount of more than 42.6 billion yuan.
