On behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, Secretary Shen welcomed the guests and thanked Kenya for its strong support for the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo in Africa (Kenya) 2024. He noted that Hunan Province attaches great importance to its cooperation with Kenya, which has achieved fruitful results in economic and trade collaboration and people-to-people exchanges in recent years. Hunan looks forward to working with Kenya to implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Ruto on the development of relations between the Chinese and Kenyan political parties and the two countries. He expected that both sides will promote cooperation across more areas, in greater depth, and on a higher level.
Secretary General Malala remarked that his delegation has been deeply impressed by Hunan's history and culture, and innovative spirit, as well as the hospitality of the Hunan people. Hunan plays an important role in the arena of economic and trade cooperation between Africa and China. The delegation will learn from Hunan's development experience, and further strengthen exchanges and partnership with Hunan in such areas as economy and trade, agriculture, and culture and tourism, to better realize mutual benefit and win-win results.
Provincial leaders Qin Guowen and Cao Zhiqiang, and relevant officials from the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, also attended.
