Ghanaian Ambassador to China Winfred Nii Okai Hammond: We hope to introduce more advanced manufacturing technologies to Ghana.
Ghana is situated on the north coast of the Gulf of Guinea in western Africa and is bordered to the south by the Atlantic Ocean. Ghana is rich in mineral resources, with about 60,000 tons of gold, ranking second in Africa; about 100 million carats of diamonds, ranking fourth in the world. Minerals, cocoa and timber, are the three pillar industries of Ghana.
Winfred Nii Okai Hammond: Ghana is an agricultural country. Hunan is a province strong in manufacturing and has several powerful manufacturing enterprises. The two sides have complementary advantages and broad prospects for cooperation. We hope to introduce more advanced manufacturing technologies to Ghana.
Cocoa is the main economic crop of Ghana. As a traditional export product, its export volume ranks second in the world after Cote d'Ivoire. We hope to increase the added value of cocoa, such as making cocoa into chocolate products to enter the Chinese market to create more jobs.
