Malawian Ambassador to China Allan Joseph Chintedza: We hope that more fertilizer companies will invest in Malawi.
Malawi is a landlocked country in southeastern Africa. It mainly grows tobacco, cotton, corn, among others. It is one of the major tobacco producers in Africa. Tobacco exports account for 70% of the country's foreign currency earnings.
Allan Joseph Chintedza: China has a broad market, and the agricultural products of African countries can meet many needs of the Chinese market. I hope that more Malawi agricultural products will enter Hunan, and even the whole Chinese market. Beyond that, fertilizer is a significant part of increasing crop yields, and we also hope that more fertilizer companies will invest in Malawi.
In June this year, the Malawi-Hunan Agricultural University Industry-University-Research Institute Cooperation Base and the Malawi Offshore (China) Industrial Innovation and Exchange Center were officially established. It is hoped to promote cooperation in scientific research, technology application, talent training and international exchanges and assist Malawi in improving agricultural productivity.
