A symposium on Hunan enterprises exploring the Uzbekistan market was held in the Xinhe Institute of the China Construction Fifth Engineering Bureau on April 12, 2025. The meeting highlighted Hunan-Uzbekistan industrial capacity cooperation, discussing market opportunities, challenges, and prospects.

The event was jointly organized by the Hunan Energy International Cooperation Industry Alliance, the Hunan Intelligent Power Alliance, the Hunan Xianglian Real Estate Chamber of Commerce, and the Changsha Foreign Economic Cooperation Business Association. The event was undertaken by the Overseas Business Department of China Construction Fifth Engineering Bureau and the China State Construction Xiaoxiang (Uzbekistan) Co., Ltd. More than 80 representatives from the China Construction Fifth Engineering Bureau, the Sinohydro Engineering Bureau No. 8 Co., Ltd., the 23rd Metallurgical Construction Group Co., Ltd. of Minmetals, the China Energy Engineering Group Hunan Electric Power Design Institute, and the Sany Group attended. The deputy head for Investment Promotion of Yashnobod District of Tashkent City, the capital of Uzbekistan, was also present.

Uzbekistan is an important node country in the Belt and Road Initiative. More than 1,000 Chinese enterprises have been registered in Uzbekistan as of 2024. Hunan is an important force in the strategy for the rise of central China, with many Hunan enterprises setting up branch companies in Uzbekistan, including the China Construction Fifth Engineering Bureau, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co., Ltd., and HNAC Technology Co., Ltd. These have been doing business in Uzbekistan for many years. As a representative of Hunan enterprises "going global," the China State Construction Xiaoxiang (Uzbekistan) Co., Ltd. has accumulated experience in market layout, key projects, and localization in Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan and Hunan enterprises have a strong willingness to cooperate, pushing forward investment policies and projects to be developed, covering such fields as energy infrastructure, mineral development, and agricultural modernization. Participating Hunan enterprises and the Uzbekistan guests discussed specific collaboration needs, policy support, risk prevention and control and other topics. The two sides reached a number of preliminary agreements on cooperation intentions.
