On August 4, an exhibition of award-winning entries from the 2025 "Mom's Hometown" Creative Works Competition opened at the Hunan Songdan Chinese Character Art Museum. The competition, launched in June 2025 by the Hunan Overseas Friendship Association, attracted thousands of creative entries from more than 20 countries worldwide, including essays, paintings, paper-cuts, and short videos. Ultimately, 16 works received top awards, 590 won awards of excellent work , and 784 received outstanding creation honors.
Currently, some of the award winners are participating in the "Mom's Hometown" Overseas Chinese Youth Summer Camp in Hunan. From penning their nostalgia to setting foot on their ancestral land, the "Mom's Hometown" series of activities has built a bridge that guides overseas Chinese youth from "knowing their roots" to "seeing them with their own eyes."
