Governor Mao emphasized thoroughly implementing the spirit of the important speech delivered by President Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World AI Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance. He called for proactively leveraging the "AI+" initiative, mapping out forward-looking plans for Hunan's distinctive industrial clusters in the new arenas, so as to firmly seize the initiative for future development.

Since its inauguration in Shanghai in 2018, the World AI Conference has been held for eight consecutive years, becoming an important multilateral platform for the international community to engage in AI dialogue and build consensus on global governance. Themed "Intelligent Partners, Co-creating the Future," this year's conference features a total exhibition area exceeding 100,000 square meters for the first time, with over 1,100 participating enterprises and more than 3,000 exhibits. Over 300 products on display made their global debut.

At the core computing power exhibition area, Governor Mao visited the booths of enterprises such as Huawei, Moore Threads, ZTE, State Grid, and China Unicom, learning about cutting-edge technologies and application achievements, and briefing them on the strong momentum of computing power development in Hunan. He noted that Hunan has strategically laid out the three pillars of "electric power, computing power, and innovation power" in recent years. Hunan's total computing power has exceeded 14,000 PFLOPS, with its intelligent computing power surpassing 5,900 PFLOPS, and supercomputing power reaching 228 PFLOPS, ranking among the top nationwide. Mao sincerely invited all parties to join hands in optimizing computing power adaptation and supply, making breakthroughs in computing power technology innovation, and strengthening open sharing of computing power, to accelerate the building of a national advanced green computing hub in Hunan.

At the AI-powered Industrial Intelligence exhibition area, Governor Mao visited the booths of Ant Group, MiDu, Baichuan AI, Alibaba Cloud, Siemens, and Lens Technology, experiencing firsthand the AI-powered new applications and new scenarios. Mao called for the application of AI technology across the entire process of R&D and design, manufacturing, supply chain collaboration, and brand marketing, boosting the industries, manufacturing sector in particular, towards high-end, green, and intelligent development.

At the Robot Scenarios exhibition area, Governor Mao visited the booth of AgiBot and interacted with robots with keen interest. He noted that Hunan has significant advantages in advanced manufacturing, with its robot industry, in particular, having a solid foundation and numerous application scenarios. He welcomed entrepreneurs to actively partner with, invest in, and develop in Hunan, strengthening cooperation in such areas as key embodied intelligence technology, ecosystem aggregation, and research outcomes transformation, to generate more innovative achievements in the robotics field in Hunan.
During the visit, Governor Mao emphasized vigorously empowering industries through artificial intelligence. Efforts should be made to deeply implement initiatives such as "AI+" and "Empowering Enterprises with Intelligence," comprehensively advancing AI technology innovation, industrial development, and scenario application, while coordinating the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, the cultivation and growth of emerging industries, and the forward-looking layout of future industries, to activate new potential across all sectors. Mao called for actively exploring industrial development paths with Hunan characteristics, leveraging Hunan's comparative advantages in advanced manufacturing, integrated circuits, audio and video, BeiDou, and other industrial sectors, focusing on the 14 arenas in 5 major areas of "AI+," implementing the "Five Tens" Initiative for AI Development, supporting the cultivation of a group of leading and benchmark enterprises, planning and advancing a number of high-energy-level projects, and striving to seize the high ground in AI development. He called for continuous efforts to strengthen foundational support and factor guarantees, accelerating computing power infrastructure construction, promoting the integrated coordination of "computing power, algorithms, data, and networks," cultivating and building high-energy-level innovation platforms and public service platforms, boosting original innovation capabilities, enhancing financial capital support and intellectual property protection, and continuously fostering a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized world-class business environment.
